Health committee needs members

A community health watch committee is to be established in the Waimarino to help the Wanganui Area Health Board meet local health needs and to promote health. The main aim of the committee will be to provide a link between the health board and the people who are serVed by it. The committee is to investigate local health needs and to recommend to the health board ways of meeting them. It is also supposed to encourage local people to look after their own health and to generally raise health awareness. It will enable people to have their say on health matters and on health board actions and proposals. The establishment of the committee depends on participation by members of the community and a meeting is to be held on 22 July at 7.30pm in the 6th form common room at Ruapehu College of those interested.
