Milk Store vandalised for 2nd time

John Triggell, who delivers milk in the RaetihiOhakune areas, faced a heart-breaking clean-up of the Raetihi cool store after vandals wrecked the place last week. When he arrived at the store on Tuesday morning to begin deliveries he found milk, cream and yoghurt thrown everywhere, and hundreds of smashed bottles. "It was a real mess - the stuff was sloshed everywhere," he said. He and his wife Yvonne and some friends spent 2x/i hours cleaning up the mess with shovels and brooms. Mr Trigell said the milk had been delivered from Palmerston North on Tuesday and all Wednesday's stock was stored in the cool store. About 1 000 bottle were smashed, 600 milks and 90 creams emptied and many one kg containers of yoghurt splashed over the floor. The cool store was similarly vandalised last year but then the mess was not so bad.
