REBELS HOCKEY

The Raetihi Rebels Hockey team are wellequipped and ready for the coming season which begins in early April. At their annual general meeting last Wednesday Enid Windle was elected president and Claire Fahey secretary. Coach for this season is John Compton who helped the team last year as an excellent umpire. said Mrs Windle. Due to a grant last year

from the Raetihi Borough Council, the team have been able to purchase new shirts for the season. They also have new equipment including skirts and goalie pads. They have applied to the borough for the use of grounds in Raetihi and hope to play there on alternate Saturdays. The season begins with a social game and working bee on 5 April, while opening day is 12 April at Waiouru. Team practices will be Thursday nights and they also hope to get a hall for indoor training.
