SOFTBALL

Senior Girls The senior girls softball had an excellent game on Wednesday 12 March against Taihape College. Both teams played with determination and the score was tight right through the whole game ending in a tie-breaker. Taihape had the last bat. it was two dovvn. the next batter for Taihape was not doing too well. She got struck out last time up to bat. She hit the winning hit. it was a home run. The score ended up S-~ with a win to Taihape. Also. hitting a home run for Ruapehu College was Tania Hinana. L. Jane played an excellent game centre outfield. It was a great game of softball due to good team spirit and sportsmanship. Coach: Neta Huriwaka. Team: M. Mareikura. K. Dobson. V. Wilson. T. Hinana. R. Sue. M. Brown(C). S. Binzeggar. L. Jane. S. Phillips. V. Trembath. C. Young.

Junior Girls The junior girls softball also had a good game on Wednesday 12 March. The game was played in good spirit by both sides. Ruapehu College played with determination and led right through the whole game. May Proebstel and Robyn Parata were the only two to successfully hit home runs due to errors of Taihape College. Ruapehu College girls were all batting. They played as a team which enabled them to win by 14-4 over Taihape College.
