INDOOR SOCCER

Interest in indoor soccer continues to grow in the Waimarino and an organisational meeting at Ruapehu College last Wednesday attracted a good attendance. Last year's committee of John Laurenson, Dave Archibald and Bill Wallis was re-elected to organise the first league and a special annual general meeting will be held in April for subsequent competitions. A friendly round of matches will be held on 12

March after team and player registrations. The league proper is set to begin on 19 March with the second round for the Waimarino United Trophy beginning on 28 May. Two newly built goals at the college gymnasium means competition this year can be expected to be close and exciting. Interested players should refer to this week's public notice.
