Ohakune Bowling Club lost the Pluck Cup to Taihape last Wednesday, after holding the cup through eight challenges. The game was very close with both teams equal at the 20th end with 1 5 all. Ohakune lost at the 21st end, leaving the score at 1615 to Taihape. Ohakune had held the cup since last November. (

The Ohakune team consisted of Audrey Nation, Vi Brown, June Foster and Elaine Cornwall. On Thursday 17 October, Ohakune won the Simonson Cup from Dury Hill, Wanganui. The Ohakune team were Vi Brown, Betty Hammond, Ethel Allerby and Rita Kaiwhare.
