FCOS Ohakune branch to close

The retail drapery operation of FCOS, Ohakune, has come to an end after four years trading from their Goldfinch Street premises. Stock from the shop will be re-distributed to other branches. Of the three staff members affected by the decision to close the Ohakune branch one of them, Mrs Marion Warner, has been there since it opened in 1981. Mrs Nita Francis joined the staff in March 1982 while Leanne Beavis started working there 12 months ago. None of them have yet found other work and are open to offers, said branch manager Robert Stout. The Waimarino area will in future be serviced on a daily basis from Wanganui. Branch manager Robert Stout of Karioi will remain on as FCOS livestock agent and representative for the company.
