Turoa Tumblers news

At the Hawkes Bay/ Poverty Bay Open Championships held in Napier last week the following gymnasts gained apparatus placings. Scott Wise, grade 8, was 1 st on parallel bars, Allen Prince, grade 5, was 1st on floor and 3rd on rings. Deidre Hamon, grade 5, was 1st on floor and Carys Hubbard, grade 4, was 3rd on bars. Helen Hubbard, grade 1, had two gold medals, one for the compulsory competition and the second for coming 1 st overall in the two day competition. Suzanne Mcllroy, grade 2, was in a bronze medal winning team as was Carys Hubbard in grade 4. Jeffrey Drayton and Allen Prince brought home team silver medals in grade 5. At Feilding last weekend, Kirsty Mcllroy gained 1st

place overall in grade 8 and Carys Hubbard was 1st in grade 4 in an interclub competition. ★ ★ ★ Helen Hubbard gained a bronze medal in the women's grade one event at the North Island Gymnastics Championships in Auckland on Saturday. FoUr tumblers competed in the championships, Warren Scott, Jeffrey Drayton and Suzanne Mcllroy. Helen will be going on to compete in the National Championships in three weeks. The championships will be held in Napier.
