Rugby
The Ohakune Karioi Rugby Club is now within an ace of retaining the Wanganui first division club rugby championship. By beating Marton Old Boys 28-10 on Sunday, only one club in the first division, Kaierau, now has a chance of beating Ohakune in the
championship. Kaierau and Ohakune are equal on points but Ohakune has a game in hand. The question will probably be settled next week when Ohakune meets Marist at Ohakune and Kaierau plays Taihape Pirates in Taihape.
