Ammo amissing
Five thousand rounds of rifle ammunition, destined for the Waimarino Small-Bore Rifle Association, have gone missing. The bullets were part of a ten thousand round delivery sent from Auckland by truck to Raetihi on Friday. Near Ohakune the truck lost part of its load, and despite the help of members of the public in collecting the boxes from the roadside, the driver found he was 5,000 bullets short. If found, the ammunition should be surrendered to the police.
