Racing with BULLY

Racing was back to its own domain last week with the Olympic games now completed. Like the All Black tour of Australia, racing had to take a back seat while those * games were on, but really I don't think anybody will complain about that. Once every four years for the games and I think under the circumstances TV and radio did very well under at times very trying conditions. It was good to see Kiwi come through his first race this time up at Foxton in such fine style. As usual he was last into the straight but he rocketed down the outside to be seventh at the line and his connections were very thrilled with his effort. This week he is expected to race on the last day of the Wanganui meeting. If the fields are anything like the first day, the local club will be very fortunate because the first day entries were fantastic. Surprising though that after me saying' how the Sanders perform at Wanganui, the first day they did not have a single starter. Watch for them on the last day though. Up north McGinty also missed out on a start because of the heavy nature of the track and with the rain they are at present having in Auckland area his prepara- » tion could be hampered. Northern horses to catch the eye in training at present would include from Te Rapa Just Silver and Mr Ali while Mr Duthie and First Sovereign are also impressing. These four would. certainly be worth staying with.

The Te Awamutu representative Little Vic must surely be rewarded very shortly also. He loves very wet tracks. As far as Wanganui is concerned, stay with those that impressed on the first day and those that have had previous success on this sandy track. Some jockeys also seem to have a good trot here and one whd ha!s a good track .ecord is the country's top hoop, David Walsh. Another who is due for a run of success is Marie Lyndon and some of her exhibitions at Wanganui have been quite outstanding. My special for Wanganui is Tredici. Remember Bully tips them first and you will read it in the Bulletin.
