OHAKUNE GARDEN COMPETITION CONDITIONS ANNOUNCED
Ohakune Garden Circle is again organising the town garden competition open to all residents within the borough of Ohakune. The winning gardeners will hold the cup donated by the Garden Circle for one year and also receive a prize of four shrubs for their garden. Two runner-up prizes of garden shrubs will also be awarded. ' The judges will visit the gardens entered in the competition during the first week in October. Points will be awarded and carried forward to the second judging which will be held during the second week in February allowing all gardens to be judged on spring and summer display. Entries can be left at Kunikraft, Goldfinch Street, Ohakune. The closing date is Friday 28 September. Last year's winning gardeners were Mr and Mrs E.D. Whale who have held the cup for the past year. Runners-up were Mrs E. Martin and Mr C.A. Forrest.
