Carrot cavalcade

Ohakune's 'Big Carrot' is due to become the centrepiece of a major promotional cavalcade through the lower half of the North Island this Friday. It will leave Wellington from the Michael Fowler Centre and head north for the first of its official 'receptions' in Paraparaumu. From there it will travel to Palmerston North and then to Wanganui for further promotional stops accompanied by — hopefully

— a fleet of supporting vehicles from Ohakune. Anyone from this area who wishes to participate in this promotional cavalcade to generate an interest in what is available in the Waimarino — recreation, sport, accommodation, restaurants etc — is invited to get in touch with Peter Hammond of the Ohakune Growers Association, Terry Drayton of Skigold or AHI Turoa who are sponsoring the promotion.
