Eric Hamon of Taumaranui proved far too strong for Peter Filbee of Hawera in the final of men's division one at Waimarino Squash Club. In a short final Hamon won 9/2 9/2 9/0, completing a successful weekend for members of the Taumaranui club. Greg Boyle won the second division defeating Carrick Workman 9/7 5/9 9/1 9/2. Tui Berridge, formerly of the Waimarino club took out the women's first division title on a countback of games. Results Men's Division One: Eric Hamon (Taum) beat Peter Filbee (Hawera) 9/2 9/2 9/0. Division Four: Phil Brodie (Te Kuiti) beat Russell Berridge (Wang) 9/4 9/3 9/1. Division Five: Rex Martin beat John Crowley 9/ 1 9/5 5/89/1. Women's Division One: 1st Tui Berridge (Wang), 2nd Judy Filbee (Haw), 3rd Pat Hutchings (Whak), 4th Mary Anne Gill. Division Two: 1st Aroha Irwin, 2nd Joanne Hutchings (Whak), 3rd Jenny Brodie, 4th Joy Crowley. Division Three: Vicki Pearce beat Robyn Williamson (HaW) 9/6 9/3 9/3. Division Four: 1st Susan Hutchings (Whak), 2nd Robyn McShane, 3rd Donna Wright, 4th Maureen Workman.
