SPINNERS MEET
An Ohakune spinners' group met for the first time last week. Mrs Bea Barnes' Rangataua house was crowded with eight spinning wheels on Tuesday when eleven interested people got together to form the group. Members plan to meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Mrs Barnes formed a similar group in Levin in 1972. That group has flourished and formed into a guild, with membership now numbering almost 100, Mrs Barnes said.
