More Carrot
I am amazed at the under-the-belt blow the Council has dished out to the vegetable growers of Ohakune in their choice of site for the carrot. No self-respecting grower in their right mind would plant a carrot in a flowering shrubbery with a native bush surround. For Council to suggest to the nation that a grower would be so stupid, is amazing with so many other excellent sites available for such an advertising promotion. The choice of the spacious area of Rochford Reserve skillfully planted with rows of low greenery leading to and accentuating the carrot would be more appropriate to the
environment where one finds carrots and would not be insulting to the growers' intelligence.
