SMOKING

Following the decision about not allowing smoking nor the sale of cigarettes at the Wanganui Base Hospital we asked our own local Waimarino Hospital at Raetihi about their policy on smoking. Sister Longcroft said that cigarettes are not sold in the hospital nor is smoking allowed in wards or corridors. Patients who are addicted smokers may smoke in the dayrooms but visitors are not encouraged to smoke at all anywhere in the hospital.
