6-DAY RACE

Siggy Bauer of Raetihi who won last year could only make fourth place in this year's New York 6-Day Race which ended last week. The race was won by 28 year old Yiannis Kouros of Greece who completed 635 miles 1023 yards (1003.8km) in the 6-day race. Ramon Zablo of Frarice finished second with 581 miles 620 yards (935.56km) and . American George Gardiner was third with 554 miles 72 yards (891.6km). Last year Siegfried Bauer covered a distasnce of 5 1 1 miles (822.35km) in six days to win the race.
