HOCKEY

Results of 5 A-Side Hockey Tournament Saturday 23 June at Ruapehu College. Seven womens and six mens^ teams competed. Games were six minutes each way. Women lst Waiouru, 18 points, unbeaten all day; 2nd Rangers A, 14 points; 3rd Ruapehu College White, 13 points; 4th Ruapehu College Blue, 1 2 points; 5th MST, 1 1 points; 6th Taihape College, 9 points; 7th Rangers B, 7 points. Men lst Cadets I, 13 points; 2nd Warriors, 12 points (7 goals); 3rd Ruapehu College A, 12 points (4 goals); 4th Cadets II, 9 points; 5th Taihape College, 7 points; 6th Ruapehu College B, 6 points. After an exhausting game the winning team was presented with an engraved miniature hockey stick and a box of chocolates. The second round of Saturday competition is now underway, and the closing day 7 a-side tournament will be held at Waiouru on 4 August.
