With only two matches to play in the qualifying round of Division Two, it seems certain that Ohakune will occupy one of the places in the promotion/relegation system. They were once again in dynamic form on Saturday 19 May with a fine display of running rugby, beating Hunterville 45-12/ Whilst Ohakune hold first place with ten points and an unbeaten record, Utiku Old Boys retained second place with a scrappy performance against Raetihi at Taihape, winning 10-0. Scorers: Ohakune — R. Brown (2), S. Gordon (2), K. Harding (2), W. Cassidy and A, Donald, tries Brown five conversions and a penalty goal. Hunterville, J. Coleman and K. Duncan tries. G. White two conversions. Utiku O.B. B. Clay and D. Green tries, Clay conversion.
