Waiouru Community well represented
At last Monday's meeting of the Waiouru Community Advisory Comrrtittee the new members of that committefe met for the first time. It had been agreed at the previous meeting that all candidates who were nominated would be elected in order to ensure across-the-board community involvement. Acting chairman for last week's meeting, Mr George MacLachlan, said he was heartened to see so many people who were prepared to Iet their names go forward - it was the best response since the WCAC was formed in 1978. Community Social Worker, Waiouru - Secretary: Feter Bright. Elected Members: Ivan Carswell, Victor Collins. Warren Day, Carol Fisher, Ceri Foote, Kevin Hicks, Rana Hiroti, Andrew Kells, Brian Kennedy, John Lawson, George MacLachlan, Eric Neilson, RogerNewth, Fhilip
O'Connor, Val O'Donovan, W-illiam O'Leary, JuneFawley, Alan Feck, Gary Sparkes', Derek Staines, Linda Thornton, FredaToohill, Allan Walters. In addition to those named above who were present. at least another dozen members of the local community attended as interestedobservers. (Allan Walters has since resigned because he has sold his pharmacy business in Waiouru and is moving to Auckland at the end of this month.)
