Cold, dry conditions met players in an Interclub match between Pearce Park and Waimarino for the Waiouru Camp Rosebowl on Saturday July 30. In this 12 a-side match the Waimarino club team proved too strong winning by 10-2. A Stableford competition held in conjunction saw R. Southee best with 43, G. Imhoff and S. Swarbrick 40, M. Kennedy 39 and R. Wise 38. Two's were scored by N. Black, G. Imhoff and C. Turner. A good field in cold conditions played for the Rangiwaea Trophy on Sunday 31st July. C. Mudgwa-y and V. Whale, 9 up won from J. Godfrey and E. Goldfipch 7 up. For the extra men a 4 Ball Best Ball par competition resulted with S. Magee and J. Ennis 6 up and J. Summerhays and T. Lenoel, N. Black and R. Pearson, G. Ennis and P. Goldfinch all 5 up. A Par competition for single players Saw good scoring by I. Godfrey 6 up, R. Southee 3 up, B. Cranston 2 up, J. Blackburn and R. Martin 1 up, D. Herewini square. The only two scored was hyJ. Godfrey. Sunday 14 August is the day for the next round of matches for the Championships, McKay Cup and Mahar Trophy.
