The ratepayers of the Waimate riding of the Bay of Islands County called a
meeting for last evening “to talk over County matters in view of the coming election,” and by so doing set a good example to other districts. The opinions expressed on County matters by those who never attend the Conncil meetings are often based on very unstable fodndations through ignorance, and a little systematic discussion on County matters by ratepayers would be very beneficial to all parties . By following the example set by Waimate, ratepayers in the various ridings could qualify them - selves to give an intelligent vote in the County elections which will soon be upon them.
