Messrs Dunbar and Berkeley are to be commended for their enterprise, for they have not only played the cities of New Zealand, but visit the inland towns but rarely touched by organisations of the same expense and excellence. That world-wide comedian and character actor Grattan Riggs heads the list of artists—which by the way numbers 12 and this genial gentleman will appear in bis great impersonations in entirely new pieces including “The Shadows of a Great City,” “ Arrah-na-Pogue,” “Shin Pane,” “Famine,” and “ Kerry Gow.” From the foregoing list of starling dramas it is easily seen that the public will be treated to something of such an excellent nature as to ensure everyone’s presence during the company’s stay amongst us. Amongst the ladies is that celebrated emotional actress Miss Helen Fergus, a lady who enchants her audience by her admirable characterisations. The remainder of the company are all artists of recognised ability in Australia including Mr Charles Field (late of Walter Bentley Company), Mr E. C. Ainslie, W. Ray, Walter Modus, C. Cartwright, L. Mairchal; and last but not least, Messsrs Dunbar and Berkeley, and the Misses Marie Masters and Edith Adair. The scenery is said to be of a gorgeous nature, having been specially painted for these productions by J. Little, esq., of Opera House, Melbourne. Mr Clement Burlington is the advance manager for the company.
