KAIHU CLIPPIE G.S.

[By Old Kaiiiu.] Your contemporary with his usual love of fair play has I see inserted Mr Pereival’s letter to the Hon. E. Mitchelson with reference to the latter’s resignation from the Racing Club, but has not inserted Mr Mitch elson’s reply thereto. The name of Mitchelson seems to act on your friend like a red l ag on others of his kind. A report is current here that a certain popular Captain has acquired or is about to acquire an interest in one 'of the stores. I doubt it myself but he appears to pass a great deal of his time in one of them. The roads here are in a deplorable condition. We must try a new Councillor next election.
