ARATAPU SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Aratapu School Committee was held last Tuesday evening when Messrs T. Nield (chairman), W. J. Bassett, Gr. Smith, "W. Corkill and S. Wilson (secretary) were present. The Teacher’s Report was read. It was agreed to allow Wru. Lowrie, aged over fifteen years, to attend school, also to continue the planting of the trees as commenced. A circular was received from the Board of Education re the supplying of school requisites, also from different stationers re the same. It was decided to procure the necessary articles from Mr J. Stallworthy of Aratapu. An application from the Orange Lodge for the use of the Schoolroom for meetings twice a month on same terms as the Reehabites was granted. Mr W. Hislop, of the Wangarei State Nursery wrote that the trees ordered would be sent at end of the present month. The Secretary reported that he had asked for more trees than first ordered.
