PLUNKET WORK.

MASTERTON COMMITTEE MEET. FACILITIES ON TRAINS. A meeting of the committee of the Masterton branch of the Plunkct Society was held yesterday in the Y.M.CA. rooms. There were present: Mesdames W. BuDock (chairwoman), J. H. Kane, H. Dawson, J. W. McLean, IL C. Drummond, C. McKay, J. M. Coradine, G. H. Uttley, R. Beetham, F. W. Martin, J. Caselberg, T. Watson, K. H. Daniell and S. J. Goldsman. Apologies were received from MesJ. Cocker, R. Judd, McDiarmid, T. Wardell, T. Jordan and W. MacKenzie.

It was decided, to forward the following remit to the general conference: “That the Railways Department be urged to provide carriages for the use of ladies only, with provision of facilities for heating babies’ bottles, on additional trains, the Wairarapa line being greatly in need of one. Also that sanitary accommodation on the trains be greatly improved.” The nurse reported for the month: Visits to office, 443; to homes, 176; new cases, 19; emulsion sold, 16 lbs. Mauriceville and Kopuaranga were visited twice, and Tinui once during the month.

Accounts totalling £64 15s 3d were passed for payment.
