AHIARUHE-PONATAHI SPORTS.
, COMPLETE ARRANGEMENTS. The annual Ahiaruhe-Ponatahi sports will be held on the Showgrounds, Carterton, on Saturday. A full day’s enjoyment is promised all who attend. The horse events are sure to be exciting, and for those who have not had the pleasure of witnessing these events before, there will be many thrills and. surprises at the skill displayed by . the horsewomen and horsemen, as some of New Zealand’s best equestrians will be competing. The procession is timed to leave Carrington Park at 10 a.m. and all horsemen, decorated cars, etc., are asked to bo ready at that time to take part in the procession. The baby show will be held in front of the stand at 2 p.m.
Gufessing competitions (sheep, pig, etc.) will be in full swing. Hot water will be available on the grounds free of charge and morning and afternoon tea will be procurable. Post entries will be accepted for all horse and other day events, but earlier entries will be appreciated by the secretary, P. 0., Box 25, Carterton. A dance in connection with the sports is to be held in the Parkvale Hall on Thursday, March 24.
