THE MASTEBTON CLUB.

OPENING OF The SEASON.

There was a good attendance of members of tho Mastertan Harrier Club last evening on the occasion of the annual meeting. Mr. L. Emery presided. The annual report and balance sheet (already published in “The Age”) were adopted.

Eight new members were elected. It was decided to hold a preliminary run on March 26, and the official opening on April 23. The date of tho ball was fixed at May 25. On the motion of Mr. W. Winhall, it was resolved to approach the principal of the Wairarapa High School regarding the holding of an annual steeplechase event in conjunction with' tho harrier club.

It was resolved to apply to the Masterton Borough Council for permission to use the Park dressing rooms for the coming season. The matter of arranging details in connection with the visit of the Hutt Valley Club in July and of a visit to Wanganui by the local club, was left in the hands of the committee.

The subscriptions were fixed as follows:— Senior, 7/6; junior, 5/-;'hon-orary, 5/-. Officers were elected as follow:— Patron, Mr. George Shaw; president, Mr. lan Cameron; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. E. Vare, F. M. Reynolds, E. Reynolds, C. C. Jackson, A. Donald, L. A. Wadham. T. Wyeth, C. M. Strouts and A. A. Nattrass; committee, Messrs. R. Parnell, L. Emery, S. Carr, C. Anderson, It. Campbell, J. Hunter, A. Curry, L. Barnes, J. Kitchener, J. Bradbury and L. A. Keats; secretary, Mr. H. Henderson; treasurer, Mr. E. J. Heifer; captain, Mr. E. J. Helfer; vicecaptain, Mr. J. Kitchener; handicapper, Mr. R. Cowie; honorary trainer, Mr. E. Spicer; press reporter, Mr. F. Law; subcentre delegate, Mr. L. A. Keats; Wellington centre delegate. Mr. S. Hall; time-keepers. Messrs. W. Winhall, C. M. Strouts, J. Bradbury and J. Hunter. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring secretary (Mr. W. Ross) and the treasurer (Mr. J. Kitchener).
