BOWLING.
THE VISITING AUSTRALIANS. TO-DAY’S ARRANGEMENTS. A notable bowling event for tho Wairarapa will take place at the Masterton Bowling Club’s green, at Dixon Street, this afternoon, wh<m five rinks representing the New South Wales Bowling Association will be matched against a team representative of the clubs affiliated to the Wairarapa Centre. Accompanied by the President of the New Zealand Bowling Association, the visitors will arrive from the south by the morning express. They will be met by the Mayor (Mr. T. Jordan) who, with the Mayoress, will join the Australians at lunch. Just prior to the match, which will commence at 2 p.m.» the Mayor will officially welcome the visitors to the town.
This evening the visiting players will be entertained at a smoke concert.
PARK CLUB MATCHES.
The final of the Park Bowling Club’s champion pairs was played last evening, when Rowla nds and Bell defeated Ackerman and Stevens. The winners will represent their club on the Featherston green on Saturday, when the champions from all the Wairarapa clubs will meet to find tho champion pair of the Wairarapa Centre.
