NOT A FOOL’S PARADISE.
ROTARIANS CONFER. BIG GATHERING. AT AUCKLAND. ; f AUCKLAND, March 2. The New Zealand Rotary Conference opened to-day, delegates from all parts of the Dominion being present. ActingDistrict Governor Charles Rhodes said he could not believe Rotary was a fool’s. paradise or that they were misled by fanciful beliefs as to its future or its possibilities.
President A. Coltman welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Auckland Club. He said there were twelve clubs in the North Island. There was ample room for more clubs in the South.
The Hon. George Fowlds was introduced as First Commissioner and said Kotary was destined to grow throughout the world. He read a message of goodwill from William McConnell, past president of the Dublin Club, and handed over the Speaker’s gravel sent as a present to New Zealand Rotary.— (P.A.).
