The <r Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent states that whereas two or three days ago the Italian reply to President Coolidge w T as decided in a frank negative by the naval advisors, it is understood that Signor Mussolini intervened. In consequence, rhe draft of the reply was altered and modified, taking into consideration Jtalo-Ameri-can relations and recent co-operation with Britain.—(A. and N.Z.)
