On Wednesday evening a motor collision occurred at the intersection of Brooklyn Road and High Streets, Carterton. A small lorry belonging to Mr H. D. Bayliss, of Greytown, was proceeding to the Carterton Railway Station, when a collision occurred with a butcher’s motor van, belonging to Mr, H. D. Baker, of Masterton. A back wheel of the lorry was damaged beyond repair, and the butcher’s van suffered damage to the radiator and lamps and a bent axle. The drivers fortunately escaped. A head-on collision between a motor lorry belonging to Mr. R. N. Wallis, of Carterton, and a car belonging to Mr Collie, of Kaitokc, occurred at South Carterton on Wednesday evening. The lorry suffered a bent front axle, and damaged mudguards, while the car had the radiator, steering gear, mudguards and the axle damaged. The occupants of the vehicles escaped injury.
