PLUNKET-KARITANE APPEAL.

FLAGS FOR 2/6. ON SALE IN MASTERTON TO-DAY. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of tiny flags will flutter in Masterton streets to-day, and each one will indicate that the bearer has donated 2s 6d to the funds of the Plunket Society in its appeal to free from debt the recently completed Karitane Hospital in Wellington. This fine institution is to be opened by the Duchess of York next month. Four stands will be erected for the sale of flags—one near Knox Church, another in the Central Arcade, one at the Post Office coiner, and another near Hugo and Shearer’s. It is fully expected that Masterton residents will respond liberally to the appeal that is being made for the babies and “the future in the distance.”
