PAHIATUA SHOW.
RECORD ATTENDANCE. THE CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. PAHIATUA, February 12. The Pahiatua Show was held in beautiful weather. There was a record attendance. Tho following championships were awarded:— Southdowns. —Ram, D. O’Brien (Mangamutu) and reserve; ewe, D. O’Brien; reserve, J. Mitchell (Hopelands). Romneys.—Ram and ewe, 11. W. Lee and Son (Masterton). Jerseys.—Bull, Mrs. I. W. Spiers (Levin); reserve, J. Mitchell; cow, J. Mitchell (Hopelands); reserve, J. Murray (Woodville). The following prizes were awarded: Dairy Cow. —J. Murray 1, H. R. Wilton (Mangamutu) 2. The only exhibitors. Lincolns. —W. H. ’Morrison (Tane) secured several awards. Romneys.— Farmers’ classes: H. Mason 1, Tylee Estate 2. Fat Sheep.—Tylee Estate 1, F. Ormond 2. Dairy Cattle.—C. Jones (Woodville) 1. J. Murray (Woodville) 2, R. C. Yates (Ruawhata) 3, J. Nicholson (Manakau) 4. C. Jones (Woodville) won the Bolton Cup for the fourth year in succession. The Jersey section was most successful. Mrs. Spiers 1, F. V. Bryant 2, R. C. Leach 3, J. Murrav 4, J. Nicholson 5. COMPETITIONS. Competitions resulted as follows:— Maiden Hunters.—Miss A. Rutherford (Alfredton) 1, Mrs. A. J. Rutherfurd 2, C. Mackie (Kumeroa) 3. Open Hunters’. — A. Mercer’s Gilgai 1, Misses J. and M. Perry’s Akitio 2, Miss G. Maher’s Blue Moon 3. Ladies’ Hunting.—O. Nelson (Hastings) 1. F. Laird 2, C. Mackie 3. Dog Trials—A. W. Bissett 1, A. Cleghorn 2. Ther<' was keen competition •and an improvement in quality. Hundreds of people in the afternoon frequented the adjoining beautiful Carnival Park.—
