STEEL TRUST CRUMBLING.

GERMANS DISSATISFIED.

DEMAND FOR INCREASED TRADI

(Received Monday, 6.50 p.m.) LONDON, February 7. The “Daily Express” says that the steel trust formed in September by French, German, Belgian and Luxembourg magnates is crumbling. Herr Thyssen, the German, withdrew as- a protest against French action in the occupied territories, and other Germans now demand that their percentage of trade be increased, otherwise’ they will abandon the trust in April. The Germans claim that the fall of the franc artificially stimulated French production, giving France an advantage that was not anticipated when the trust terms were arranged in September.—(A. and N.Z.)
