FIRE BRIGADE DEMONRATION

The much-looked-for Fire Brigade Demonstration will be held on Saturday and Monday next in the Park Oval, Masterton, and it is anticipated that there will be a large attcnelancc of the public. The competing firemen will arrive to-morrow, and that evening will be the guests of the Masterton Picture Company at the Opera House, by the kind permission of w.r. V. K. Kemblc. On Saturday morning a conference will be held in the Municipal Hall, and the ofScial welcome by the Mayor (Mr. W. H. Jackson), and competitions will commence immediately after lunch. In the evening the visit ing brigades will be the guosts of the Masterton Fire Brigade at the Fire Station. On Sunday morning church parade will be held, the brigadesmen assembling at the Municipal Hall, and int-rching via Chapel and Queen Streets to the Church of England. In the afternoon the visitors will be taken for a motor drive through Gladstone to Greytown, where they will be entertained by the Greytown firemen. All day Monday will be taken up with the competitions, and in the evening the usual banquet and presentation of prizes will take place in the Municipal Hall. As a special attraction, seven amateur athletic events have been added to the programme for Monday afternoon. The two local bands will be in attendance during the demonstraticn, which promises to be one of Mastenon's most .successful entertainments.
