REPATRIATION DEPARTMENT
MASTERTON BRANCH,
It ia interesting to note the work of the Masterton branch of the Repatriation Department during the financial year ended March 31st. Since the inception of the branch, some twelve months ago, the sum of £14,631 18s 9d has been granted in loans. This amount is made up as follows: —Forty-four business loans, £11,042 10s; sixty-eight furniture loans amounting to £3182 19s 2d; twenty-one equipment and tools of trado loans, £406 9b 7d. In addition, thirty-three workers and apprentices have had their wages subsidised, thirty-nine trainees have been approved for the Penrose Training Farm, and seven grants havo been made for the payment of tuition fees at tehnical schools and colleges. One hundred and one men have been placed .:n employment, and eight grants have been made during tho year for unemployment sustenance. •
