MONTHLY MEETING,
The CouncU, met on Saturday, the 27th March. / Present:—Councillors C. B. -Seymour, W, A. Miller ajod R, C.' Dagg. Cr. Miller waa voted to the chair. j Cr. Blewett wrote, saying he would be unable to be present, and Cr. Judd was unable to be present owing tjo illness. ■ ~ Cf: Forsbery was understood to be away in the South Island. > The Chairman welcomed Cr. Dagg, the newly-elected Councillor for the East Riding, who thanked the Chairman for his kind remarks, , v The Waipa County Council forwarded a circular letter desiring co-opera-tion in pressing on the Government the need for increased immigration. Thursday jwas appointed the weekly i half holiday for shops: ~ The secretary to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board forwarded cheque for £l6 18s Bd, being 'refund of local charitable aid disbursed. t Mr Quinlan, sawmiller, attended the meeting and took out a license for timber waggon. It was agreed to accept Elliott Bros.' offer of chaff at £lO per ton. Crs. Judd, Blewett and Forsberg Were granted leave of absence for the present meeting. , Cheques amounting to 7 14s '6d were passed for payment..
