"BOOST."

Mr. A. H. Herbert, of Eketahuna, is a believer in "boost." Speaking at a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce last week, he said:—"We want to adopt the American system—get behind this town and boost it. It is no uso leaving the work for the, other fellow—he won't do it. Our great danger at present is a tendency to ,self-depreciation. In other parts of the world I have seen people centred in their locality. To Londoners there is only London. Parisians believe Paris is the centre-of all things, and only America exists .for the Americans. Each goes about his business as if there was no other place to compare with it in the universe. Wo want that spirit here, push our town and advertise it." Wo respectfully dedicate these words to Masterton and other townships in tho Wairarapa.
