COMPETITIONS SOCIETY
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the committee of the Masterton Competitions Society was held in the Caledonian Hall last night, his Worship the Mayor (Mr. W. H. Jackson), president, occupying the chair. The need of boosting the objects of the Society ,in view of the early date of the competitions, was stressed, and committers were appointed to canvass for members, donations, ijrophies," an,d advertisements. "It was decided to write to the Trust Lands Trust and Borough Council, soliciting grants to the funds as in former years. It was pointed out that the competitions would extend over at least four days; and a member's subscription of £1 entitled a member to two tickets admitting to any part of the hall during the competitions; and also that all tickets were transferable,
