THE HAYNE CASE

A FURTHER DEVELOPMENT. . - (By Telegrapb-rPreas Association.) DUNEDIN, Last Night. A further development in connection with the Hayno case took place in the Police Court this morning, when Gladys Batchelor, of Waimate, was charged before Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, SM,, with on September 15 last unlawfully permitting an instrument to be used on her with intent to procure a miscarriage. The case arose out of the fact that at the re-trial in, Wellington of Hayne and Neylon, the accused, who was the principal witness, refused to give evidence. The defence was reserved, and accused was committed for trial, bail being granted in accused's own recognisance of £SO.
