CABLE STEAMER ARRIVES
(Received Last Night, 10.15 o'clock.) SYDNEY,-December 30.
The Eastern Extension Company's cable steamer Patrol has arrived from Singapore,' with: three hundred miles of new cable aboard.-, ■•■'. - Y ' She sails on Saturday to overhaul arid repair La'; Perouse v and 'Nelson cables. She picks -up a cable when two days out, and thence Overhauls cables to within three hundred miles of the New Zealand coast.
