CORRESPONDENCE.
THE LYTTELTON ELECTION.
(To the Editor,)
Sir, —1 beg to correct an error appearing in your footnote to the result of the* Lyttelton elections in yesterday's issue. You state that, "For the first time in the history of the second ballots a larger number of votes were polled at the second ballot than at the firet." Such is not the case. election contests, since the introduction of the Second Ballot Act, the votes recorded at the second ballot exceeded in number that recorded at the first. The following are the electorates in which the above results took place:—Ohinemuri, Waitemata, and Palmerston in 190S and Wairau in 1911. —I am etc., WATCHFUL. j_We thank our correspondent for the correction. In looking over the Official Year Book we failed to notice the cases mentioned.—Ed. Age.]
