NEW ZEALANDERS ON TOUR.
AN EASY VICTORY
(Received Last Night, 9.40 o'clock.) SYDNEY, December 17.
The New Zealand cricketers' second match with the Northern Districts, which on this occasion was played at Glen innes, resulted in another easy victory for the visitors. Continuing their first innings, the New Zealanders score totalled 232. Patrick, who was not out yesterday, gave a capital exhibition. Their opponents found: the bowling of Sandman and Sneddon too good, the latter being especially deadly, securing the remarkable average for three wickets for one run.
The Northerners were disposed of for one hundred, New Zealand thus winning by an innings and 46 runs. The individual scores are ae follow:
Hemus 24 Sneddon 12 Tuck well 16 _ Hickmott 37 Reese 40 Sandman 0 Sommerell ° Patrick 57 Carlton 12 Bennett 15 Tattersall, not out 4 Sundries 10 Total 232 In the Northerners second innings Sandman" took 6 for 40, Sneddon 3 for 1, Carlton 0 for 9, Reese 1 for 10, Bennett 0 for 16. The visitors were splendidly entertained by the local club.
The following players will represent the Hockey A cricket team against Carterton A on the Park Oval at 2.30 p.m. sharp to-day: Ban-, Dixon, Fairbrother, Meston, Hall, Scrimgeout', Morris, Walker, «Pragnell, C. Wilson, S. Wilson, The following team will represent Hockey A against Carterton B at Carterton to-day: Roberts, Hornblow, Joseph, McKenna, Bradbury, Penson, Williams (2), Aymes, Johnson, Gibson, Darling, King, and Corlett. The drag will leave the Club corner at 1.40 p.m. sharp.
