SOLWAY STOCK SALE.

Messrs Dalgety.and Co., Ltd., Msusterton, report having held their usual weekly sale at .Solway on Wednesday , 17th inst., when there was a fair yarding of stock which met with keen competition and realised the follownig prices: 2£-year -steers £5 18s, empty store cows £3 Is, good store cows £5 Is to £5 9s, forward cows £6 ss. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their weekly sale at the Solway saleyards on the 17tli inst:-—We offered upwards of 500 sheep and a fair lot of cattle. In sheep the principal lines were ewes and lambs and 2tooth wethers. Bidding was fairly brisk throughout, and the bulk of the yarding selling under the hammer at rates in advance of previous markets. Passed lots were sold by private treaty, making a total clearance. We quote: Good ewes in the wool with Down lambs at foot 14s 6d to 14s Bd, good shorn ewes with very forward lambs at foot 13s 2d, forward and fat lambs 14s Bd, fat ewes 16s 3d, small 2-tooth wethers 13s 3d to 13s lOd, forward cows £5 5s to £5 7s 6d, empty"Heifers £3 los, bulls up to £5.

JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE

- JOHNSONVILLE. Last Night. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: —A good yarding of bullocks and sheep came forward and sold well at late rates. Prime bullocks £ll 10s to £ll 17s 6d, lighter £lO 12s 6d to £lO 17s 6d, vealers 21s to 33s 6d, prime heavy ewes 20s 8d to 23s 3d, primes ewes 17s 6d to 17s Bd, and 18s 4d to 19s, prime wethers 20s 2d to- 21s, medium wethers 18s 6d to 18s lid, prime lambs 15s 9cl to 16s 3d to 16s 6d, lighter 13s 6d to 14s 6d.
