Captain Pearson, of the steamer Opouri, which arrived here from Wellingtoln this evening, reports that he passed the Kaiapoi Shipping Company's sfteamer Kairaki at 11 a.m. today, 35 mile® south of Cape Egmont, with one of her tail-shafts broken. The Kairaki is making for Nelson, with one propelloir. She was due here to-day from Lyttelton,
