NEGOTIATIONS FOR PEACE HUERTA AND NATIONALIST LEADER (Received December 10, 8 a.m.) MEXICO CITY, December 9. It is reported that President Huerta and General Carranza (the Nationalist leader) are negotiating for peace. Owing to General Villa and General Carranza quarrelling, • President Huerta has issued orders prohibiting interference with foreigners and their property during the fighting. ELECTIONS NULLIFIED NEW ELECTIONS LN JULY (Received Last Night, 10.20 o'clock.) MEXICO CITY, December 10. Congress has nullified the Presidential elections, and fixed the newelections for July. CONGRESS EXPLAINS HUERTA'S ATTITUDE TOWARDS AMERICA (Received Last Night, 10.20 o'clock.) MEXICO CITY, December 10. Congress gave as its reason for nullifying the elections that less than one quarter of .he electors throughout Mexico voted. It is understood that the postponement of the new elections is due to President Huerta's suggestion. It is likely that Huerta will now continue in his present attitude towards the United States, based on the contention that he only is able to govern Mexico pending a new presidential election.
