ENGLAND AND GERMANY.
PROPOSALS FOR REPRESENTATION.
(Received Last Night, 9.35 o'clock.) " LONDOTn, December 1. There are indications that neither Britain nor Germany, who are mutually pledged against official P pation in the San Francisco Exhibition, are willing to initiate an invitation to each other to reconsider the position, but that they would yield if a third party offered friendly offices in that direction. The Board of Trade is disposed to support the British Committee revising a scheme involving a grant of £IOO,OOO instead of £250,000 as originally suggested. It is stated that the majority ot members in the Reichstag has agreed to the demand for a special grant of £IOO,OOO for Germany to be officially represented at San Francisco.
