BRISK OPENING. (Received November 25, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 25. .The wool sales opened brisk. Merinos are an excellent selection. Prices for new clip are unchanged. Crossbreds are par to 5 per cent, easier, HTGH COMMISSIONER'S" CABLED MARKET REPORT. The Department of Industries, and Commerco has received irte following cablegram from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated London, 25th' November.,' 1913, regarding the opening of the '.sixth series of colonial wool sales: "Wool Sales.—The wool sales havO .commenced. Home and Continental dealers we buvingireely, but Arnjjicans are holding off. The price cltP superior merino is xmchanged, but all other wools average a halfpenny lower than at last sale' There are about 40,000 bales of New Zealand wool catalogu- | ed." "' , Messrs W. and C. Turnbull Vld Co., Ltd., report having received the following cable from their London house, under date 35th inst.: "Fine and medium declined 5 riov cent; coarse unchanged; slipes about ,5 per cent down." The local offerings were approximately 7000 bales, compared with 8300 bales at the opening sale last year. Prices underwent an all-round fall of 1-Jd to 2d per pound.
